Glavna prezentacija: Metodologija merenja mikroplastike u vodi za piće (Claudia Cella, Zajednički istraživački centar EU), Projekat NANOplastics (Dr Dušan Materić – Helmholc centar za istraživanje životne sredine – UFZ Rukovodilac istraživačke grupe Mikroplastika, nanoplastika i elementi), MicroDrink (Mirna Švec, Hrvatski geološki zavod) i NET4mPLASTIC projekat i ADRIPLAST – Jadransko more i zagađenje plastikom i mikroplastikom iz slatkih voda – Adrion teritorijalni izazov ((Dr. Corinne Corbau Univerzitet u Ferati).
The team of the Institute of Public Health in Sombor, which participates in the realization of the IPA Project Minimizing CROssborder water contamination of microPLASTICS-Microplastics HUSRB/23R/12/089, took part via ZOOM in the Conference on microplastics in drinking water – from the source to the tap Conference organizer was – EU Strategy for the Priority Area of Water Quality for the Danube Region and the conference was held on October 3, 2024 at the European Youth Center in Budapest, Hungary. The main objective of the conference was to explain two new measures to improve water resilience in EU, these measures include a standard methodology for measuring the presence of microplastics in water and a delegated act to ensure that the reuse of treated wastewater for agricultural irrigation is safe. The priority area of water quality (PA4) of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) aims to discuss the topic of plastics and microplastics in drinking water from the source to the tap in accordance with the obligations of the EU directives. Opening remarks and welcome remarks were presented as: EUSDR Goals and Objectives (PA4 PACs) – Marton Pesel (HU – Directorate General for Water) and Danka Thalmeinerova (SK – Ministry of the Environment). The problem of microplastics was presented through presentations:
EU Ocean, Water and Microplastics Mission (Marčin Sadovski, DG MARE), Health activities and regulations for water safety and quality related to microplastics (Jennifer De France, WHO team leader, drinking water quality and safety), Combating plastic pollution in Danube River Basin – Coordinated Cross-Border Actions (Adam Kovacs, ICPDR), Microplastics in the Danube Region – Towards Standardized Routine Analysis (Gabor Bordos, Eurofins)
Relevant projects and initiatives were presented at the conference, such as: Water resilience, i.e. the ability of water and waste water to withstand and quickly recover from natural and man-made disasters in focus in 2024 – Harmonized methodology for measuring the presence of microplastics in water
Main presentation: Methodology for measuring microplastics in drinking water (Claudia Cella, EU Joint Research Center), NANOplastics Project (Dr. Dušan Materić – Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research – UFZ Head of research group Microplastics, nanoplastics and elements), MicroDrink (Mirna Švec, Croatian Geological Survey) and NET4mPLASTIC project and ADRIPLAST – Adriatic Sea and plastic and microplastic pollution from fresh waters – Adrion territorial challenge ((Dr. Corinne Corbau University of Ferrata).
